British Embassy in Romania
Note the operating hours of the British Embassy in Romania. If you are on holiday and have lost your passport. You will need to report this to the police for a police report. This police report will be needed by the Embassy to issue you with a new passport. If you live in Romania then you will need to await for replacement passport. If you are on holiday then an emergency travel document will be needed.
Likewise should you be getting married you will need to show that you are single. This is done with a freedom to marry letter from the British Embassy in Bucharest. You will need to have your original divorce decree if you are divorced or an original death certificate if your former spouse died. Note also the applications takes a few days to complete. The letter they issue will need to be verified by the Romanian government as authentic and then translated and certified.
